We
are excited to get going for the 2020/2021 season. As I mentioned in
previous emails there has been lots of things happening behind the scene
to get ready. These changes are exciting, a great opportunities for
our club to continue to grow, and our players to continue to develop.
This will be a longer email, but wanted to share all of what has been
going on here at Pacesetter South.
We
as a club have developed a mission statement and a club philosophy as a
way for us to focus on our players and their growth in soccer. Here
are the mission statement and club philosophy.
Mission Statement
The
club provides a positive environment for competitive male and female
soccer players of all ability and skill levels, ages 7 and above. Our
mission is to promote the personal development of each player and help
them reach their full potential, both on and off the field with a focus
on dedication, discipline, and teamwork, while nurturing a passion for
the game of soccer. The club strives to attain a positive reputation as
one of the premier soccer clubs in our area and within the region.
We
recognize that not all players’ life priorities will be soccer. As
such, we make every effort for our club environment to act as a platform
and tool that can assist in the development of the individual to
succeed in whatever walk of life they choose.
Club Philosophy
The Pacesetter South Soccer Club strives to:
- Offer
each player an environment that allows them to develop according
to his/her ability. Each player’s needs are different and our staff and
programs are chosen and designed to deliver quality soccer experiences
at each level. Player development is the focus of our Club.
- Promote
the development of communication, discipline, good sportsmanship and
teamwork necessary for academic achievement and good citizenship.
- Attract, develop and retain superior coaches that will provide the leadership, player development and operational expertise.
- Provide continuing educational opportunities for the PSSC coaching staff.
- Focus on the development of physical, mental, as well as emotional fitness of its team members.
- Establish programs for players designed specifically to enhance the knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of soccer.
- Prepare high school aged players for competition at the high school level as well as the collegiate level if that is their goal.
We
have made some adjustments to our DOC's. We wanted to be sure that we
were allowing focus to our player, teams, and coaches. We have added a
DOC position to focus on our high school age groups. Tiffany George
will serve in that position and will be growing our high school
program. Jason Espinoza will move from the boys DOC to the girls DOC to
continue to enhance our girls program. Ryan Elliott with become our
boys DOC. We are excited to welcome Ryan into his new role at the club.
As
some of you are aware there has been some changes with league
affiliations. NWOYSL has been affiliated with Ohio North, but will be
moving to be affiliated to Ohio South. That league will continue to
have the same teams as in the past but allows the clubs to benefit from
additional coaching classes and access to other leagues within Ohio
South. Also for our teams that have participated in State League in
previous seasons will now have the opportunity to play in a combined
Ohio North/Ohio South state league. We are excited about these
opportunities for our players and teams to be able to find the
appropriate level of competition within Ohio South.
As far as tryouts for next years teams. Hopefully all of you have taken the opportunity to register at www.pacesettersouth.com.
If not please do that today. With the current restrictions due to the
COVID 19 pandemic we will be conducting tryouts a little different. We
will begin to offer positions for some of our returning players starting
June 8th. For players that we will need to see at a tryout we will
email them directly with a date and time in which we can see them. We
are planning on holding those the week of June 15th. We will be using
coaches evaluations as a part of our process for our returning players.
While we realize this is different than in years past we are trying to
be mindful of the current restrictions, the need to keep kids safe, and
needing to move forward.
We
have some activities planned for the summer to get the kids going again
and will let everyone know the dates for those once we get through
tryouts. Again we are excited to get out on the field and show you the
changes we have made and how they will positively impact your child's
growth in soccer. We had hoped to have the opportunity to show you
during the spring season, but unfortunately did not get that chance.
See all of you out of the field soon.
